A message from Rolf and Lachie to all our customers.
As you may be aware the Prime Minister announced Tuesday night that as a COVID19 control measure all live auction attendance is to cease. This came as no surprise to us. We have been struggling to reconcile the ethics of encouraging people to congregate in our rooms during the current public health emergency. We have determined that the best course of action is to suspend all auction activity until further notice. We do not believe our business is an 'essential service' and as such think this decision is in the best interests of all our customers and staff. We love what we do but we'd like to take this opportunity to step out of the way of the amazing people delivering the true essential services. When staying home is a public service it is the best option to take.
We are no longer allowing public access to our premises, and are preparing our rooms for closure. Please don't worry, we will be open again as soon as restrictions allow us to be. In preparation we are almost fully stocked for our next auction (whenever that may be), and have re-configured our room to allow better viewing with more personal space, in anticipation of a period of on going social distancing recommendations. Although the anticipated extended shutdown will not be easy for anyone we have taken measures to ensure that all of us will be able to weather the storm.
We are confident that when circumstances allow we will be seeing you all in the same place, being helped by the same people, enjoying what we do as we always have. We will be posting images of upcoming stock on the Facebook page shortly. You may even see the odd post from some of us at home, just to let you know that we are still here, and that we miss you, and still can't thank you enough for the amazing, brave, cheerful attitudes we saw last week!
You are all part of our community, and we wish you all the best as we navigate our way through this difficult time together (separately!)
